  • The UK Government’s £19 million investment, delivered in partnership with UNICEF and the Governments of Kano and Jigawa States, is helping to protect essential services for children and families. Through #CRIBS, supported by UK in Nigeria, 39 Primary Health Centres and 45 schools have been strengthened to withstand climate risks, ensuring that health and education services remain accessible even during climate shocks. With Nigeria ranking 2nd globally in climate risks to children, this investment showcases how scalable solutions like CRIBS can protect essential services and provide a model for nationwide replication.

  • Children in Nigeria face immense challenges in accessing justice; 📊 6 in 10 experience violence before age 18. 🚨 190,000 have been detained in the past 5 years. ⚖️ 78% of those in conflict with the law have no legal representation. But there is hope. All 36 states have now adopted the Child Rights Act, and new national guidelines are making Nigeria’s justice system more child-friendly. The task ahead is to turn these laws into action, and build a system that treats every Nigerian child with fairness, compassion, and dignity. At the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Conference, UNICEF’s Ibrahim Sesay called on the NBA to lead this change: champion reforms, expand legal aid, promote diversion and restorative justice, and protect child victims. When justice works for children, it works for everyone.

  • At the Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) Kevin Frey, CEO of Generation Unlimited, and Iliana Albino witnessed how the Girls' Education and Skills Partnership (GESP) is equipping young girls with the tools they need to thrive in the digital economy. From coding, mobile app and web design to mobile phone and computer repairs, these young women are learning skills and turning them into livelihoods. Many have already become gurus in their fields, confidently earning an income and inspiring others to dream bigger. This is the power of investing in girls. This is how we build opportunities, unlock innovation, and create brighter futures. 💙 #WorkLifeReady
